What we do

Little Okawood is the Japan location production service of OKAWOOD Inc., a film and video production company based in Osaka. We work as your production’s team on the ground in Japan.

  • Plan your shooting route around your content
  • Suggest locations for how they look on camera—not just how famous they are
  • Plan around light, crowds, and travel time
  • Coordinate locally with shops, venues, and people in Japanese
  • Discuss filming permissions and arrangements your shoot may need
  • Plan around your group size, luggage, and filming gear

Tell us your concept, visual style, and preferred format and deliverables. We’ll help turn your ideas into a practical shooting plan.

Where we work

Based in Osaka, we work across Kansai, Shikoku, and Kyushu.

Born and raised in Osaka, Keihiro knows the city firsthand and brings that local perspective to location research and shoot planning.

Our story began in Okawa, Fukuoka, where we ran a coworking space and guesthouse for eight years. Kyushu isn’t just a destination for us—we know it from the inside.

From a single-day shoot around Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, or Nara to a multi-day project in Shikoku or Kyushu, we’ll plan around your content and schedule.

Production logistics, planned around your shoot

Operated by a film and video production company
Little Okawood is operated by OKAWOOD Inc. (株式会社OKAWOOD), a Japanese film and video production company. We provide production and location coordination for filming projects, including location research, local communication, and crew and equipment logistics. We do not sell sightseeing tours or standalone taxi or airport-transfer services.

Whatever the size of your production, OKAWOOD coordinates the people, equipment, and local arrangements your project needs.

We plan movement between locations as part of your production logistics, taking your schedule, crew size, luggage, and filming equipment into account. Any necessary production transport arrangements, the service providers, and who contracts with them are confirmed in the written quote before booking. Flights and accommodation for your team are booked by you. Where a service requires a licence or registration, such as passenger transport or travel arrangements, it is provided by an operator that holds that licence or registration.

Share your preferred locations, production scale, and budget. We’ll propose a practical plan and coordinate locally so your team can focus on the shoot.

On the day

Keihiro plans and oversees your shoot. On the day, Keihiro or a member of his team will accompany you as your English-speaking Japan location coordinator, handling local communication and keeping your shooting plan on track.

OKAWOOD is your single point of contact. We’ll confirm your coordinator and the day’s arrangements in your advance quote.

Pricing

Package prices include tax. All prices are in Japanese yen (JPY).

¥120,000 per day
Includes one English-speaking coordinator for up to 9 hours.

Additional time is ¥20,000 per hour, subject to availability and prior agreement.

The base package covers location suggestions, route planning, local communication and arrangements, and on-the-day shoot coordination. Production logistics are planned around your agreed shooting itinerary.

From two-person shoots to large production crews, every project gets a plan built around it.
Larger productions, additional coordinators, crew, filming services, equipment, and location fees are quoted individually. Tell us your scope and budget—we’re happy to discuss a practical approach.

Actual expenses, charged separately with no markup
Fuel, expressway tolls, parking, and the coordinator’s accommodation for overnight projects are charged at actual cost. The written quote sets out the included services, any vehicle arrangements, and estimated expenses.

An advance written quote is required for every booking.
The package price and estimated expense budget, including a contingency allowance, are collected in full in advance. We plan within that agreed budget so that, as a rule, no additional on-site payment is needed. After the shoot, expenses are reconciled against receipts or invoices and any unused balance is refunded. Additional costs require your approval before we proceed.

FAQ

What size of production do you work with?

Whatever the size of your production, we can discuss the support you need. We plan around your crew, equipment, and schedule, and scale the location team to fit. Larger productions receive a tailored quotation.

Can you suggest filming locations?

Yes. Share your concept and visual references, and we’ll suggest locations and timing to suit your content.

Can you help with filming too?

Tell us what support you need. We’ll confirm any camera operation or additional production support separately before you book.

Can you support branded content or larger productions?

Yes. Send us your brief, team size, schedule, and coordination needs so we can discuss the scope.

Can you coordinate travel between filming locations?

Yes. Movement of your crew and equipment is planned as part of your production logistics. Share your itinerary, team size, and equipment needs so we can confirm the arrangements and costs in the written quote.

What happens if it rains?

Shoots normally go ahead in the rain, with itinerary adjustments where possible. If a typhoon, disaster, unsafe conditions, or loss of access prevents the shoot, we’ll work with you to reschedule. If that is not possible, the affected services are refunded, less any non-refundable third-party costs you approved in advance. See the booking policy below.

Booking & cancellation

About our service
Little Okawood is provided by OKAWOOD Inc., a film and video production company. Our fees are for production and location coordination work. We do not sell travel packages, accommodation, or transportation as standalone services. Flights and accommodation for your team are booked by you; on request, we can recommend suitable options or introduce licensed travel and transport providers. Fuel, tolls, parking, and other out-of-pocket expenses incidental to the production are charged at actual cost.

Payment
An advance written quote and your acceptance are required. Your booking is confirmed when the package price and estimated expense budget, including a contingency allowance, have been paid in full. All quotes, invoices, payments, and refunds are in Japanese yen (JPY). Payments are made through PayPal, using a PayPal account or a credit or debit card where PayPal offers card payment; other payment methods may be agreed in your quotation. OKAWOOD pays its own PayPal transaction fees; they are not added to your invoice or deducted from any refund.

We plan within the prepaid budget so that, as a rule, no additional payment is required on site. After the shoot, actual expenses are reconciled against receipts or invoices and any unused balance is refunded. Any additional cost or change that would exceed the agreed budget requires your approval before we proceed.

Overtime & additional services
The base package is ¥120,000 per day for one English-speaking coordinator for up to 9 hours. Additional time is ¥20,000 per hour, subject to availability and prior agreement. We’ll confirm additional services and payment arrangements before work begins.

Date changes
One date change per booking is permitted at no additional rescheduling fee, provided the request is made at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time of the first shooting day. The new date must fall within six months of the original shooting date and is subject to availability. Any additional third-party costs or changes to the agreed services will be quoted for your approval in advance. Requests made less than 72 hours before the start time cannot be accepted as date changes and are treated as a cancellation by you.

Cancellation by you
Planning starts as soon as your booking is confirmed, so the package fee is non-refundable if you cancel, except where applicable law requires otherwise. No-shows are treated as cancellations. Unused prepaid expenses are refunded, less any non-refundable third-party costs you approved in advance.

Rain & ordinary weather
Shoots normally go ahead in the rain. Where possible, we’ll adjust the itinerary using indoor locations, covered spots, or rainy-day scenes. Rain and other non-severe weather are subject to the standard date-change and cancellation terms above.

Typhoons, disasters & unsafe conditions
A shoot will not proceed where an evacuation order applies, access is legally restricted, or conditions present an unacceptable safety risk. In other circumstances, including when Japan Meteorological Agency warnings are in effect, we will assess whether the shoot can proceed safely, taking into account the warnings, road and transport conditions, and access to the locations, and tell you as early as possible.

If a shoot cannot go ahead for these reasons, you can reschedule once within six months at no extra charge, subject to availability. This rescheduling is in addition to, and does not use up, the one date change available under "Date changes." If rescheduling increases third-party costs, such as location, equipment, or other production bookings, we will ask for your approval before charging the difference.

If rescheduling is not possible, or no new date can be agreed within six months, the package fee and unused expenses for the affected shooting days will be refunded, less any non-refundable third-party costs you approved in advance.

Flight disruptions
If a typhoon or natural disaster causes your flight to Japan to be cancelled or delayed so that, as confirmed by your airline’s documentation, you cannot arrive in time for the scheduled start of your shoot, the rescheduling and refund terms for typhoons and disasters above apply.

If your flight is cancelled or delayed for another reason beyond your control, such as an aircraft fault or airport closure, we will offer one complimentary rescheduling within six months, subject to availability and your airline’s documentation. If rescheduling is not possible, any refund will be considered case by case. Missed connections or changes caused by your own travel arrangements do not qualify for these exceptions. This rescheduling is in addition to, and does not use up, the one date change available under "Date changes."

Late arrival
Except for qualifying flight disruptions described above, if you arrive late, the scheduled shooting period will not automatically be extended, and no partial refund will be provided for time lost due to your late arrival. Any extension beyond the originally scheduled end time is subject to availability, prior agreement, and the overtime rate of ¥20,000 per hour.

Cancellation by us
If we cancel for a reason on our side, you can choose to reschedule, subject to availability, or receive a full refund for the cancelled services. No payment processing fees will be deducted.

If only part of a multi-day booking is affected, the relevant policy applies to that portion.

Refunds
All refunds are made in Japanese yen, normally by the original payment method, after the final expense reconciliation or cancellation is confirmed. Any difference caused by currency conversion or your card issuer’s fees is not covered.

Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms and any booking are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Osaka District Court as the court of first instance, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.

Nothing in these terms limits non-waivable statutory rights or any buyer-protection rights that apply to your PayPal transaction. Please review our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy before accepting a quote or making payment.

All booking times and deadlines are in Japan Standard Time (JST).
